What an incredible follow up to the brilliant Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This new series is shaping up to be every bit as good as the films I grew up with as a kid.
If your Kidz under 12 don’t scare easily and are used to seeing 12a content at the cinema like Hag and Con they should be fine with this movie. There is one strong use of bad language – although there’s so much going on at the time it’s Lilly to go over their heads.
Hag just loved this movie and as a Dad it’s great to see my Kidz loving the Apes as much as I did when I was young. Highly Recommended!!!
3D Blu-Ray Review –
As with many live action 3D films – most of the 3D SFX in Apes are saved for the climax of the movie with the rest of the film having subtle 3D shots of landscapes. The use of 3D is very good and I particularly like the depth of the scenes within the power generator.
Stand out 3D Moments – Opening the capsule door of the blocked pipe, Apes attacking the human town at night on horses, taking control of the tank, apes climbing the tower and Cesar fighting Koba on the tower scaffolding.
Hag and Con with Cesar – Andy Serkis
Hag with Toby Kebbell – Koba
