Disneyland Adventures

Peter Pan Land:

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect (Pegi 3) 5 Stars

Parent View:
Syncs may say this is just an advert for Disneyland. As a regular to Uncle Walts parks – I just see it as a lovely way to re-live the magic of some great holidays. This game is just like a Disneyland holiday – its actually quite incredible how the makers have captured the magic of the experience.

If this isn’t ‘The Best Family Game’ on the Kinect – its certainly in the top 5. Easy to navigate around and bundles of fun. If Disneyland is out of your budget this year – buy this game.

The GunStringer

Out Now on Xbox 360 Kinect (Pegi 12) 5 Stars

Parent View:
I’m not certain if I’ve been a bad parent with this game letting Hag and Con play it. Its the perfect Kinect game for 4 to 10 year olds – but some of the content is a little risky. The most noticable being where Cowboys go to meet women. Most of this content went over the boys heads as it did when I watched westerns as a child – but I wasn’t totally happy it being in the game.

The game is so much fun and keeps Kidz active at all times. Hag’s now completed it – but if you are considering ignoring the Pegi 12 as I did, be aware that some of the content is a bit ‘naughty’.

Fantastic Pets

Out now for Xbox 360 Kinect (3) 5 Stars

Parent View:

A truly magical and amazing interactive game for Pre/Early-School Kidz. Younsters can learn about animals and their environments while enjoying energetic games at the same time. A must own for any young family on the Kinect.

Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect(BBFC U) 5 Stars

Parent View:
Beautiful story book adventure game for young boys and girls – both Hag and Con adore this game and its great watching them work together to solve puzzles. Highly recommended.

The Black Eye Peas Experience

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect, Ninetendo Wii (Pegi 12) 5 Stars

Parent View:
The Black Eye Peas Experience is so much fun. All ages will love this game no matter your dance skill. Kidz take advantage of the Mum and Dad enjoying the party atmosphere a little too much and force them to play. The game is rated Pegi 12 – with the content no different to anything on MTV.

Just Dance 3

Out now on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii(Pegi 12) 4 Stars

Parent View:
Perfect Party season game for the whole family. Not too certain why it carries a Pegi 12 – you can see all the songs from the playlist at any time of day on MTV.

Just Dance 3 Song preview:

Michael Jackson: The Experience

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect also Wii and PS3 (Pegi 12) 5 Stars

Parent View:
Hag and Con want to play this game all the time. Show me a generation that doesn’t enjoy dancing and singing to Michael Jackson’s music and then add the Kinect magic. A fantastic game the whole family will enjoy together.

Rabbids: Alive and Kicking

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect (Pegi 7) 5 Stars

Parent View:
This game is just so much fun for the whole family – we’re really pleased we have it. It really doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad at Video games you will definitely find yourself laughing out loud and enjoying every mini game. Hag and Con ask to play this game all the time. If you’re planning parties for Xmas and have a Kinect – buy this Ribbids: Alive and Kicking.

Puss in Boots

Out 2/12/11 on PS3 Move, Wii, Xbox 360 Kinect (Pegi 12) DS (Pegi 7) 5 Stars

Parent View:
Concerned your kidz are playing too many games and not getting enough exorcise? Then this is the game for your household.
Puss in Boots is a game full of Jumping, dodging, kicking and arm waving – so make sure you have plenty of space in you lounge to play.
Its also worth setting a ‘Do not cross’ line – so your kidz don’t accidentally collide with the TV.

Pegi have yet again shown a lack of consistency in their grading with the BBFC. This game is a Pegi 12 with the film being graded at a ‘U’ certificate by the BBFC – meaning anyone can see it unaccompanied. Kidzcoolit have played the game and seen the film – the content is exactly the same. A Pegi 12 rating for Puss in Boots is ludicrous and nobody will take any notice. I’m personally very happy for my 4 year old and 7 year old to play the game. Pegi’s rating system to my mind is reckless, damaging to the games business and holds no benefit to parents once again. This game should be a Pegi 3 in my opinion and Pegi are devaluing their importance to guiding parents with such silliness.

UFC Personal Trainer

Out on Xbox 360 kinect, PS3 Move, Wii 1/7/11 (Pegi 3) 5 Stars

Parent View:
UFC Personal Trainer is targeted at adults – although Kidz into WWE will love this training game. A very physical work out taking the Wii Fit game to another level. Great fun and likely to keep anyone regularly playing very fit.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Out now on Xbox 360 Kinect, Wii Udraw, 3DS, PS3 (Pegi 7/PG) Hag 5 Stars/Con 5 Stars

Parent View:
Be wary of letting Kidz play alone and set a line in front of the television that shouldn’t be crossed. Sometimes the excitement gets a little too much and we don’t want our budding little Kung Fu Panda’s taking down the TV.

Also, for children who are easily affected by fighting games, I would suggest time out from playing at regular intervals, maybe every 30 mins. I have noticed Hag would carry on the action outside of game play and needed to be brought back into the real world again.

Overall great fun for little ones and it certainly got them up and moving!

Review by Con

Out 17/6/11 on Xbox 360 Kinect, PS3 Move (Pegi 7) 5 Stars

Parent View:
I’m not too certain Con knew what was going on – but he seemed to have fun with this game when we had it.

COMING SOON: Kinect Star Wars
