Con & Bex talk Season 2 and LEGO IP Crossovers with LEGO Dreamzzz Creative Director Cerim Manovi!!!

Con & Bex talk Season 2 and LEGO IP Crossovers with LEGO Dreamzzz Creative Director Cerim Manovi!!!

What was the hardest thing about designing for Season 2 and were there any ideas that didn’t make it into season 1 you used this time? (Con age 16)

Cerim Manovi – After the success of Season 1, we spent a lot of time thinking about how we can expand the LEGO DREAMZzz world and find more missions for the gang to complete – but it was all really fun! We got to dig deeper in the LEGO DREAMZzz world and come up with more lore that can support story and play. The Never Witch felt like an awesome addition to bring to life for LEGO DREAMZzz Season 2 and makes a great villain.

One challenge for this season was seeing how we could adapt and evolve our hero characters without losing their identity, keeping in mind that we’ve got a young audience too.

If you could turn any dream into reality, what would it be? (Bex age 12)

Cerim Manovi – From a playful perspective, wouldn’t it be so cool if everything you imagine and dream could come to life? From a more serious perspective, a dream I would love to make into a reality is that everyone on this planet could live in peace with one another.

What are you most excited for fans to see in this season and are there any toys you can tease us with? (Con age 16)

Cerim Manovi – One thing I am very excited about with the LEGO DREAMZzz Season 2 sets is that some of them have multiple build options. For example, fans can choose to convert Mateo’s gooey companion into a street knight mech, a street knight centaur or a street battle mech with the Mateo and Z-Blob the Knight Battle Mech set. If I had to pick a favourite, I’d go with the Castle Nocturnia, which is on sale this August – it’s something that we’ve never done before, and is a set that plays with dimensions and perspectives, so keep an eye out for it!

Who is your favourite character and why? (Bex age 12)

Cerim Manovi – My favourite character has to be Ms Castillo, as she reminds me of my own mother. I think she’s a really good character, but there’s more to her than meets the eye!

Are there any new characters in season 2? (Bex age 12)

Cerim Manovi – Of course, we have the Never Witch is our new villain of the latest season, with her crew causing chaos to the dream world. We’ve also welcome Astrid to the Dream Chaser crew, who operates from Berlin.

If you entered the world of LEGO DREAMZzz, what would you do first? (Con age 16)

Cerim Manovi – Good question! I’d like to visit Candy Land and fly with the Shark Ship to Video Game Island, so I can play games there. I would love to explore the depths of the dream world and try and find as many new places as possible.

LEGO DREAMZzz crossed over with Ninjago. If you could cross over DREAMZzz with another LEGO IP what would it be and why? (Con age 16)

Cerim Manovi – Ninjago is a hard one to beat! I imagine a crossover between LEGO DREAMZzz and LEGO City would be really exciting.

LEGO® DREAMZzz™: Night of the Never Witch episodes air worldwide from May 17, with a further ten episodes to follow in September. New Toys Available later in the year!!!
