When Hag and Con met Lightning McQueen!!
To celebrate the launch of the new Silver Series range of Disney•Pixar Cars products, fans of the hit movies are in for a giant Easter treat when life-size models of their favourite characters will be making an exclusive appearance in selected Toys R Us and Smyths Toys stores across the country.
The tour will commence on Friday 29thMarch at Toys R Us in London’s Brent Cross and will feature star race car Lightning McQueen with the incomparable tow truck Mater.
The road trip will then travel to Toys R Us stores in Birmingham (30th March), Cardiff (1st April) and Southampton (2nd April), before heading to Smyths Toys Superstores in Bristol (3rd April) and Beckton (4th April). Visitors at each of the six locations across the country will be able to pose for pictures with their favourite Cars characters and enjoy seeing the new Silver series range of toy products.
The new range will include 10 speedy and shiny new die-cast racers including Lightning McQueen, and will form the new Silver Racer Series from Mattel. These special-edition die-cast toys are just the ticket, produced with double Ransburg Zamak metallic paint, making them super-shiny. The back-story to how Lightning McQueen and friends get their cool new look and the exciting charity race they embark on is revealed in a special Silver Series themed edition of DisneyPixar Cars magazine that goes on sale from 24th March 2013.
First released in 2006, the award-winning Disney•Pixar Cars has gone on to become one of Disney’s top grossing franchises and has established the characters, movies and product range as a firm favourite with young boys across the country. Since the launch of the first Cars film, Mattel has produced more than 256 million die-cast character cars worldwide featuring more than 600 unique designs.More than 200 million die-cast Cars characters have been sold to date – that’s enough to stretch from Tokyo to London!
