Do you still enjoy eating fish – now that you’ve played a fish for so long? Hag age 11

Ellen Degeneres (Dory) – it’s a good question Hag. Well when we did Nemo I was eating fish. And then I became a vegan for most of those years. And I just recently started eating fish.

I don’t eat Blue Tang.

What does it feel like to work with such famous characters? Con age 9

Angus Maclane (Co-Director) – For me personally joining the film as Director – what was interesting to me was there was a tremendous expectation for the sequel of Finding Nemo. What’s so wonderful about the first movie is that the characters are so well drawn and you feel you know them. And you’re not necessarily making the film for the audience – you’re making it to make yourself laugh. You’re working with these really well drawn characters – your working your best to make sure it’s what the character would do.

So when you’re making a sequel like this you’re just trying to do it justice for Dory.

It’s amazing for me from my prospective having worked on the first film. But with this one we worked very hard making Dory – working on her back story. And when we first got into the recording booth with Ellen there was a whole side of it we were missing. When we first heard her speak her lines again and really form the character with her own sensibility – it reminded us how three dimensional the character is. And how the missing element is the vocal performance and how that would form the writing of the movie. So much of it is based around Dory herself.

It was discover Dory not only for the movie but for the audience and rediscovering her. That was what was most exciting for me and the new characters we were discovering along the way. But it all came from Dory – it was all based around her story.

It was a story of discovery and reminding ourselves.

Andrew Stanton (Director/Writer) – Yeah I get to describe it like going on a long car trip with people you already know. And the car trip keeps going on and you talk about stuff you wouldn’t have talked about otherwise. So you start learning more about Marlin and Dory and Nemo and stuff.

And of course meeting the new characters is always fun.
