I liked this movie and wasn’t sure I would as the movie is so long and they’re introducing so many characters – I was worried it might ‘drag’ a bit for Kidz. The running time is quite long at 151 minutes – but it’s so action packed and fast paced it just flies by. So much is going on from start to finish – it feels like a much shorter film and the boys were enthralled throughout.
What I like best about Batman v Superman is that FINALLY Kidz can watch a new live action Batman movie. I’m not saying there isn’t quite dark moments and hard hitting fantasy violence(Ch CPK BBFC website for scene references) – but it’s no way near as ‘grown up’ and twisted as the last series of Batman movies. This is far more in line with the Marvel Avengers films – so if you happy for your Kidz under 12 to watch them, you’ll have no problem with this movie. Batman v Superman is very much a present day 12A movie – older than say Star Wars The Force Awakens which I took Bex (age 4) to see at the cinema but not as old in content as Ironman 3 or Hunger Games.
The Highlight for Hag & Con was the introduction of so many Justice League characters they love from the comics and cartoons. Blink and you’ll miss them – but they’re introduced in a really classy way that doesn’t disrupt the pace of the movie.
In an old school 80’s PG way – this is a perfect family Super Hero Adventure movie. Highly Recommended!!!
3D Blu-Ray Review –
It’s a shame they didn’t release the Ultimate Edition in 3D – but its not the end of the world as you get the 2D Extended BvS with the 3D Blu-Ray. In 3D the theatrical cut of the film looks spectacular from start to finish. Like with most 3D action films – the best of the 3DFX are kept for the end of the movie. The last 45 minuets of BvS is one effect after another. I especially like the slow motion look of Superman’s cape in 3D. A must for the 3D Blu-Ray collection.
Stand out 3D moment – Opening sequence for Young Bruce’s back story, Bruce’s dream in parallel Universe, Batmobile car chase, superman walking from burning courthouse, Lois falling from building, Batman v Superman fight in rain and Doomsday finale.
