Disney Pixar Inside Out (2D/3D) review by Hag, Con and Bex

Pixar are back again with a thought provoking family film full of fun for kidz and tear for parent. Only Pixar can do this. Inside Out stands up with the best of the Pixar back catalogue – although it plays slightly older than the marketing imagery suggests. Both Hag (10) and Con (8) were transfixed by the characters and story and understood all the hidden messages. Bex age 3 (And a regular to the cinema for many years) became a little fidgety and talkative for the deeper last 20 minutes. This spoilt the impact of ‘Teary’ moment for me theatrically – but she was less restless watching the film at home. Its another classic piece from PIXAR although the deeper points are not as well sugar coated as other Pixar movies – leaving some younger Kidz a bit confused and distracted. Still Highly Recommended though!!!
3D Blu-Ray Review:
You can always expect good quality 3D from a Disney Pixar movies and Inside Out delivers. The use of 3D FX is quite subtle throughout but effective – mainly using 3D to show the scale of the back drops and colour of the world inside Riley’s head. The Director clearly likes using 3D for impact scenes – and when they happen they pop straight out of the screen.
Stand out 3D moments – Riley’s first memory, Broccoli Pizza, Dream production – Rat, Joy and Sadness chasing the core memory in the tube, escaping goofball island, Abstract thoughts room and Bing Bongs rocket escape.
