This movie is just magical. I feared it wouldn’t deliver on the Iconic Disney Original – but be assured, although different – its every inch as good as the 1967 Jungle Book and we walked out singing the classic themes.
The Jungle Book is rated ‘PG’ – which I wholeheartedly agree with (Don’t listen to this scare mongering media nonsense being said that its not a Kidz film – IT IS!). I took Hag (11), Con (8) and Bex (4) to see the film – Hag was completely fine but both Con and Bex did get a bit scared at times and they’re not Kidz that scare easily (Bex watched Star Wars the Force Awakens and was completely fine throughout). The moment that seemed to effect the kidz the most was when Shere khan was threatening to kill the young wolf pups – both Con and Bex looked for cuddles and found this scene a little bit harrowing. But whatever you do don’t stop your kidz seeing this movie just because they may get ‘a bit’ scared at times. A cuddle is all they need and the impact is less dramatic on the small screen.
Kidz love being scared and I think its really healthy for Kidz to see stories like the Jungle Book – there’s loads of moral messages in a movie like this.
The Jungle Book is easily one of the best Kidz films of the year and everything you would want it to be if you’re a fan of the original film. When walking out with the kidz I felt like I was back in 1967 – having seen the original movie for the first time. Highly Recommended!!!
3D Blu-Ray Review – This is an incredible 3D Blu-Ray. The 3D effects are subtle – but the depth it brings to the CGI landscapes and characters is beautiful. It is really hard to believe that everything except Mogli is created on a computer. A must own for the 3D Blu-Ray collection.
Stand out 3D Moments – The opening sequence with Mogli and pups, Kaa hypnotising Mogli, Red flower story with Mogli’s Dad, Mogi and Baloo with Bees, Bare Necessaries, Monkey stealing Mogli, Man Village fire and End Credits.
