Hag: Who is your favourite Monster of all time and why?

Dan Scanlon: That’s very good

Helen Mirren: Me or all of us?

Kori Rae: Favourite monster of all time, well I’m partial to this film and my favorite monster is actually Dean Hardscrabble

Helen Mirren: ….oh yeah, you’re just saying that… (Laughs within the audience)

Dan Scanlon: You took my answer

Helen Mirren: Do you mean Monster in life or Monster in movies? Monsters in Movies well…..favorite monster in movies – well Godzilla’s pretty good. Godzilla’s great, the old Godzilla…the first Godzilla’s fantastic, that’s true. And ah…Jason and the Argonauts, Harryhausens early, early sort of monsters. And the all time scary terrifying oober oober monster that Dean Hardscrabble would be very appreciative of was the Alien that comes out of the stomach…

Dan Scanlon: …..Oh yeah – now you’ve had me picturing her class just sitting down taking notes, she’s terrified them. (Laughs within the audience)

Helen Mirren: …could have done that.

Dan Scanlon: You know, King Kong – especially Ray Harryhausen….especially the stop motion King Kong was really creepy. You know the way stop motion characters move is really scary.
