Smashing family entertainment and a really good tribute to the original Wizard of Oz movie. I’m struggling a little to decide the exact target audience for the film – much like the original movie its quite unique. Hag and Con both loved it and aside from the Teenage boys in my family – I would recommend it to everyone.
Its a bit scary in places – in exactly the same way the the original movie is, that Witch and those blooming flying Monkeys. I would suggest taking a blanket for little ones to hide behind – that always does the trick. Highly Recommended!!!
3D Blu-Ray Review:
Oz the Great and Powerful is a 3D SFX extravaganza. I tend to prefer 3D at home over the theatrical release – but this is one of those films that was great on the big and small screen. The colour is glorious and 3D out of this world (literally) from start to finish. Stand out 3D moments – Entering Oz for the first time (Birds and spitting fairy), Sun flower fields, Bubbles, The apple (No spoilers), Fireball attack, Flying monkeys attacking, The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz finale!!
