What was the first Tom Cruise film you ever saw? (Hag age 9)
Doug Liman – I’ve probably seen every one of his movies. Was it TAPS.or was it Risky Business. Whichever was the first of those two.
What do you like about Tom Cruise? (Hag age 9)
Doug Liman – He…you know…..he is a true movie star. You just….you…you go on a journey with him. You do what he’s doing, you’re in his shoes. Um….yeah….he’s so ridiculously charming. Not just on screen but in real life. And just gutsy…..not just gutsy like he’ll hang off the side of the burg califa…..he’ll be emotionally gutsy and try something he’s never done before. He’s not just doing the same character over and over again…so I’ve always loved him from a far. Then working with him……I mean….. People in the film business are always saying “you have to say nice things about whoever you work with”. But you’ll never find someone that worked with Tom that doesn’t just rave about him. He was just extraordinary….and the level of excellence he sort of brings and expects everybody else to bring was inspiring. He’s so hard working…….we shot seven days a week…because we wanted to make a bigger movie than the budget could afford. Tom had sort of bragged about what hard worker he was and I was like….how about we just shoot seven days a week. We used two crews and we can get an extra twenty days of shooting in and he agreed to it.
At one point early in the shoot I heard him talking about wanting a day off in November and what I didn’t realise he meant….not like….every day off. He just meant one day off sometime in the month of November…when we wasn’t shooting because he had something he had to do. But other than that one day off we shot seven days a week.

Edge of Tomorrow is a cross between Groundhog Day, Pacific Rim and Saving Private Ryan. If it ends as well as it begins – this could be a classic Tom Cruise movie!!!
Gonna take both Hag and Con to see Edge of Tomorrow.
