The Beatles are culturally one of the most important bands of all time and this new LEGO set is a great way of getting youngsters interested in the FAB Four. Hag, Con and Bex have grown up listening to the Beatles and all love the band and their songs. In my house I always listen to the Kidz music and they listen to mine – showing a keen interest in iconic characters such as Bowie, The Stones, Prince, Pink Floyd and Adam Ant. I think its important for Kidz to learn about the history of music as so many contemporary musicians are inspired by acts such as The Beatles and its fun to pick out references in modern music releases. With the new Disney film ‘Moana’ the baddie crab sings a song called ‘Shiny’. Con was very quick to point out how much it sounded like a David Bowie song. I was very proud of my boy for noticing.
Once built this is a beautifully colorful set with loads of play. I’m not too sure why the box says 10 years plus as a regular LEGO builder age 7 years up will have no trouble building the toy – its very straight forward to construct. Mum and Dad will definitely want the yellow submarine – but I have a good feeling they’ll struggle to keep it out of the hands of their kidz as its so much fun to play with. Easily up there as one of the best LEGO kits available. Highly Recommended!!!
