Did you ever think one day you’d be Postman Pat and why did you want to be him? Hag age 9
Well no I never did. It never occurs to you that you might be Postman Pat………but as soon as I was asked I said yes!
Partly because it’s something my children can watch. I have a three and a six year old and most of the stuff I do is pretty adult. So they won’t watch that until they’re thirty let alone eighteen or twenty One. So it was really nice to do something I could take them along to.
It’s very confusing for them….”What do you do for a living Dad?”……”what do you do?”…”what’s your job?”
They said to me today “What are you doing?” ….I said I’m going to talk to people. “What are you talking to them about?” …….Me! (Laughs)
Are you sad you didn’t get to sing the songs? Con age 7
A little bit of me is sad. And a little bit of me is relieved. I mean Pat’s meant to have the most jaw-droppingly beautiful voice. It’s supposed to be like a Susan Boyle moment.
Now people may have dropped their jaws when I sang…but it would have been for the wrong reasons.
I mean I would have loved to have sounded that good…I’m delighted that Ronan makes me sound great.
Some people think that’s my voice….and I haven’t corrected them!
I’d love to have a voice that good probably…but they never actually auditioned me to sing.
Maybe next time he’ll (Ronan) do the speaking and I’ll do the singing.

How does Postman Pat get letters out of post boxes? Ethan age 5
Well…we have a key for the bottom of the Post box which you unlock. It’s a secret door at the front because it would be quite tricky to put your arm through that tiny slot to try and pull them back out.
So yeah…they all fall into a sack…you open up the front with a key and take the sack away and put a new empty sack in its place.
Why is Jess the cat so strong? Sophie age 6
Well I think cats are amazing animals. Jess is the real Super Hero of the film….I mean Pat’s a humble postman. A sweet nice man. Jess is the one with extraordinary power. (Laughs)
Do you have a pet and if so do you have a similar relationship to Pat and Jess? Hag age 9
No we don’t. We used to have a dog but sadly he’s no longer.
Have you got any postman pat toys from the movie? Sophie age 6
Do you know we have this at home (Points to Plush Stroke and Purr Jess). My son now sleeps with him.
He’s almost…but not quite supplanted My T, who’s his tiger. But I don’t have a Pat…….because I’m Postman Pat!
Is Jess really your best friend? Con age 7
Oh yeah. Without a doubt. Pat couldn’t survive without Jess…….it’s one of the heartbreaking things in the film when Jess doesn’t want to get in the car with him. They are inseparable; you can’t imagine one without the other. If Jess ever retires then Pat would have to too. He wouldn’t carry on without him.
