We’re loving all the Trek activity at the moment – with the new re-boot of the movies the franchise has become very attractive to the new wave of younger fans with the game being very important to that new found market. With that in mind its such a shame that Pegi gave this a Pegi 16 – feeling that the content is for gamers over the age of 16.
Personally I have absolutely no problem with Hag (age 8) playing Star Trek. The content is exactly the same as all the films and TV shows he’s watched over the past months ranging from BBFC PG to BBFC 12A.
One major aspect in the game that meant that it was deemed a Pegi 16 rather than Pegi 12 is the characters still being on screen once killed. If the characters disappear – games tend to get a Pegi 12. If they don’t – Pegi 16. This happened with ‘The Amazing Spider-man’ game last year too.
As for the game – Hag loves it although he finds the sections where you control the Enterprise very hard. Epic stuff for Trekers!!!
