Parent View:
Trilogy – As a fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and The Godfather (Kidz ask your parents about this set of movies) its very hard to say this, but the ‘Toy Story Trilogy’ is ‘THE PERFECT’ Trilogy ever created. From start to finish this series becomes better as the story and characters develop. Enchanting, funny and dealing with sensitive family issues of growth – no child nor adult should ever be aloud to say “I’ve never seen the Toy Story movies” – Director John Lasseter is a genius story teller. As for the 3D – Its a no brainer to transfer them to 3D if they are to be considered contemporary for the future.
Toy Story 3D – Still a brilliant laugh out loud Family film no matter how many times you’ve seen it – although the animations starting to look a bit dated compared with 2 and 3. Its maybe worth Pixar giving it a little love and care frame by frame so it doesn’t start to look like an antique in 10 years time. Technology moves so fast with Visual effects and a movie as important as the first Toy Story should be constantly updated much like the Star Wars films. The 3D on the small screen looks superb – and far better on the small screen than the large cinema screen. The impact of the depth is far greater on a 3D TV – it was little lost theatrically.
Toy Story 2 3D – The Empire Strikes Back of Toy Story trilogy and Hag’s favourite of the films. The idea of looking at what a toy actually is and how it would be treated is just genius and made me take my original Star Wars figure collection down from the shelf to play with the boys. High quality comedy and some amazing performances from Voice cast – one of the gretest films ever made. As with the Toy Story 3D Blu-Ray – this film has a greater impact on the smaller 3DTV to the big cinema screen.
Toy Story 3 3D – I knew this film would be good, but I never thought expected it to be better than Toy Story 2. I was wrong and this films the best of the three. I don’t know a parent that wasn’t comforted by their Kidz as the film came to a close. It even became an ‘in joke’ that both Mum’s and Dad’s were very proud to have cried during Toy Story 3 – and those that didn’t were a little ashamed. This is a great movie for the family – but I think kidz prefer one and two and are likely to appreciate it more later in life. As for the 3D – unlike one and two it was made for 3D originally and worked really well Theatrically. The Impact of depth and objects poking out of the screen works as well on the 3DTV as it did on the big screen
