With the release of Nintendo’s Amiibo you’re going to hear a lot of talk of Skylanders and Disney Infinity from journalists. In reality – each of these products are very different – the only similarity is the technology.
Skylanders is a massive game where extra characters extend the world. Disney Infinity is a library of Disney related video games and Amiibo is a way of connecting all the various games available for Nintendo Wii U.
In theory it’s like a real life video game version of Wreck-it-Ralph where the video game characters jump in and out of Nintendo games via the Wii U pad.
The more the Kidz use the figures – the more powerful they become. Also they can take them to their friends houses and use those powers in their mates games.
As much as I can Highly Recommend ‘Super Smash Bros.’ – if you’re Kidz already own Hyrule or Mario Kart 8 they can instantly join the party with just one figure and say ‘I own Amiibo’.
These figures make for a fantastic gifting idea on Birthdays as well as being very collectible with loads of ‘reality play’ outside of the games. Highly Recommended!!!
